Business of Committees — SELECT COMMITTEES
I followed up on the issue that the shadow Leader of the House raised with regard to annual review report-backs. I understand that there are five annual reviews still to be reported back, but the deadline for them to report back is the next sitting day. Therefore, I seek leave for that report-back deadline to be extended until 6 April. That would give that committee all of the next sitting week in order to be able to meet and to do that if needed.
I know it’s not a good practice for the Speaker to object to leave being sought—and I won’t—but I will remind members that we are about to consider a motion which would allow for the remote consideration of these things, and not require members to come together to do it. But I will put the leave. Is there any objection to the leave that the Leader of the House is seeking? There appears to be none.
