🗣️ Speech David Carter (New Zealand National Party — List Member)
Time unknown

Honourable members, I have just been alerted that there is a problem with the microphones. The Prime Minister’s microphone, my microphone, and the Leader of the Opposition’s microphone are working. They are proceeding to fix it as quickly as possible, but you may need to resort to hand-held mikes, which will be delivered by the messengers.

💬 Hon Gerry Brownlee: I raise a point of order, Mr Speaker. Do I need a microphone?

Well, it is a matter of making sure it is transmitted. [Interruption] I think it would be better if the member did use the microphone, because it is a matter of transmission for broadcasting purposes. [Interruption] I have given the floor to the Hon Gerry Brownlee. I will take the point of order shortly.
