When the House resumes on Tuesday, 17 May the Government intends to progress the first readings of three Treaty bills as cognate bills. The Government also intends to move that the Aquaculture Legislation Amendment Bill (No 3) be read a second time. Wednesday is a members’ day and Thursday is Budget day.

Can I just have an assurance from the Acting Leader of the House that, as part of the Budget legislation, urgency will not be taken to take bills through past the point of a select committee hearing for legislation that does not come into effect until after the end of November.
