πŸ—£οΈ Speech Mr SPEAKER
Time unknown

I regret to inform the House of the death on 27 August 2003 of the Hon Michael Aynsley Connelly CMG, QSO, who represented the electorate of Riccarton from 1956 to 1969, that of Wigram from 1969 to 1978, and that of Yaldhurst from 1978 to 1984. Mick Connelly was Minister of Police and Minister of Customs from 1972 to 1975, and also Minister of Works and Development and Minister of Statistics from 1974 to 1975. He was a past president of the Association of Former Members of the Parliament of New Zealand. I desire, on behalf of this House, to express our sense of the loss we have sustained, and our sympathy with his wife Margaret and all of the relatives of the late former member. I now ask members to stand with me and observe a period of silence as a mark of respect for his memory.

Honourable members stood as a mark of respect.
