← All policiesThe Regulatory Standards Act 2025 sets out statutory "principles of responsible regulation" (covering things like the rule of law, personal liberties and property rights) that new and existing legislation must be assessed against, via a "Consistency Accountability Statement", with a new Regulatory Standards Board empowered to inquire into whether laws comply. Introduced by ACT leader David Seymour. Two earlier, unsuccessful attempts at similarly-named ACT member's bills (2011, 2021) are not tagged here - only the 2025 bill that actually passed.
