📋 Reducing the accommodation supplement for homeowners
← All policiesRaises the Accommodation Supplement's entry threshold for some homeowners (not renters) - the minimum share of their own housing costs they must cover before the Supplement tops up the rest - from 30% to 40% of the relevant base rate, from April 2027. Homeowners receiving NZ Superannuation, the Veteran's Pension, or the Supported Living Payment are excluded from this change and keep the current 30% threshold.
