I’ve also received a letter from Teanau Tuiono seeking to debate, under Standing Order 399, the opening of an FBI office in New Zealand. This is also a particular case of recent occurrence for which there is ministerial responsibility. There can only be one urgent debate on any sitting day. Standing Order 401 requires me to give priority to the matter that, in my opinion, is the most urgent and important, and I have done so. That does not prevent the member from submitting an application on another day.
