Urgent Debates Declined — Migrant Exploitation—Auckland
Time unknown
Members, I have received a letter from Erica Stanford seeking to debate, under Standing Order 399, a recent case of migrant exploitation that was reported last night in Auckland. An urgent debate is a way of holding the Government accountable for an action for which it is responsible—Speaker’s ruling 200/4. The application does not disclose any Government action on the matter. Indeed, it notes that the Government has made no formal statements in relation to these events. The application is therefore declined.
