Time unknown

Members, I have received a letter from Camilla Belich seeking to debate under Standing Order 399 the Minister for the Public Service’s publishing of an open letter on 19 October about upcoming industrial action. This is a particular case of recent occurrence for which there is ministerial responsibility. Politicians, including Ministers, express political views regularly. Not everyone agrees with those views. That is the nature of our democracy. I do not think the expression of a political view warrants the setting aside of the business of the House in this instance. The application is declined.
