🗣️ Speech Hon Gerry Brownlee (New Zealand National Party — List Member)
Time unknown

I’ve received a letter from the Hon Marama Davidson seeking to debate, under Standing Order 399, the Government’s decision to deploy personnel and a C-130J aircraft to assist New Zealanders in the Middle East. This is a particular case of recent occurrence for which there is ministerial responsibility. The situation in the region is a volatile one, and the Government’s efforts to assist New Zealanders who are in that situation warrants the attention of the House. This matter has been well traversed through the provision of the ministerial statement today and, indeed, in questions. The application is declined.
