I seek leave to move a motion without notice and without debate to express our condolences to those affected by the Myanmar earthquake.
💬 SPEAKER: Is there any objection to that course of action being followed? There appears to be none.
I move, That this House send it condolences to all those who have lost loved ones and livelihoods in Myanmar, Thailand, and other adjacent nations as a result of the Myanmar earthquake on 28 March, and note that the Government of New Zealand stands ready to consider and respond to any request for assistance from affected countries to aid recovery efforts.
