Petitions, Papers, Select Committee Reports, and Introduction of Bills

Two petitions have been delivered to the Clerk for presentation.

Petition of Greenpeace requesting that the House reverse the decision to amend the Hauraki Gulf / Tīkapa Moana Marine Protection Bill to open protected areas of Hauraki Gulf to commercial fishing

petition of Forest & Bird requesting that the House stop work on the proposed amendment to the Hauraki Gulf / Tīkapa Moana Marine Protection Bill that would allow commercial fishing in high protection areas.

Those petitions stand referred to the Petitions Committee. Ministers have delivered two papers for the Clerk to present.

2024 annual reports of New Zealand Growth Capital Partners Ltd and Research and Education Advanced Network New Zealand Ltd.

Firstly, I present the report of the Controller and Auditor-General entitled Immigration New Zealand: Managing how it makes decisions about skilled residence visas. Those papers are published under the authority of the House. No select committee papers have been reported. The Clerk has been informed of the introduction of two bills.

Crimes (Countering Foreign Interference) Amendment Bill, introduction

Disputes Tribunal Amendment Bill, introduction.

Those bills are set down for first reading.
