I’ve received letters from Tangi Utikere and Chlöe Swarbrick seeking to debate under Standing Order 399 the running aground of the Interislander ferry Aratere and the Government’s response to it. This is a particular case of recent occurrence for which there is ministerial responsibility. The ferries are an integral part of our national infrastructure; a serious incident involving them and the Government’s response to it warrants the attention of the House today. I received Tangi Utikere’s application first and will call on him to move that the House take notice of a matter of urgent public importance, at the conclusion of question time. [Loud noise]

Chlöe Swarbrick: It’s the ferry running aground.

There you go. Yeah, it could well be. Just a little sensitive, being likened to a ferry though.
