🗣️ Speech Chris Bishop (New Zealand National Party — Member for Hutt South)

Thank you, Mr Speaker. Next week, the House will consider legislation under urgency to progress the Government’s 100-day plan. The legislation to be considered will include the Reserve Bank of New Zealand (Economic Objective) Amendment Bill and the Fair Pay Agreements Legislation Repeal Bill. And there will be a continuation of the Address in Reply debate, including members’ maiden speeches.

🗣️ Speech Kieran McAnulty (New Zealand Labour Party — List Member)
Time unknown

Thank you, Mr Speaker. I thank the Leader of the House for that. I’ve got a couple of questions. First, when can we expect to see copies of the bills? And, second, when the urgency motion is confirmed, can the Leader of the House confirm that there will be bills that are doing new things rather than just repealing other things?

🗣️ Speech Chris Bishop (New Zealand National Party — Member for Hutt South)
Time unknown

In relation to the copies of the bills, as soon as they are available and the Government wishes to make them available to the Opposition. And in relation to the second part, it’s always worth the House’s time repealing dumb legislation.
