In reply to question No. 6 on Thursday, 8 June, I inadvertently gave incorrect information. I stated that the healthy homes standards do not apply to boarding houses. In fact, the healthy homes standards do apply to boarding-house tenancies. The regulation for healthy homes standards made under the Residential Tenancies Act took effect in boarding-house tenancies from 1 July 2021. They will take effect for Kāinga Ora tenancies and community housing tenancies from 1 July 2024.
