🗣️ Speech Hon Nanaia Mahuta (New Zealand Labour Party — Member for Hauraki-Waikato)
Time unknown

Point of order, Madam Speaker. I seek leave to make a personal explanation to correct an answer to a supplementary question.

ASSISTANT SPEAKER (Hon Jenny Salesa): Leave is sought for that action. Are there any objections?

In relation to question No. 11 from Simon Watts earlier this afternoon, regarding advice I received from officials on 22 November after Supplementary Order Paper 285 had been tabled in the House, to be clear on the scope of the advice—which was: clauses should be included in the Supplementary Order Paper if entrenchment were to occur—the advice noted that if entrenchment was to be effective, both clause 116 and Schedule 4 needed to be entrenched because clause 116 states that a divestment proposal may only proceed in accordance with Schedule 4. The advice was technical and I did not forward it on.
