on behalf of the Minister of Justice: I move, That, pursuant to section 4D(1)(a) of the Electoral Act 1993 and section 32 of the Crown Entities Act 2004, this House recommend Her Excellency the Governor-General appoint Karl Mervyn Le Quesne as Chief Electoral Officer for a term of five years.

The Electoral Commission is responsible for maintaining the electoral rolls, administering parliamentary elections, and—
