Brett Hudson’s tabled amendment to insert new clause 3A, inserting new section 27A relating to freedom of members in respect of confidence votes, is out of order as being outside the scope of the bill. Chris Bishop’s tabled amendment to insert new clause 3A, inserting new section 45A relating to the expulsion of Māori constituency members, is out of order as being inconsistent with the principles and objects of the bill. The Hon David Bennett’s tabled amendment to insert new clause 3A, which inserts new section 4C(d) in the principal Act, is out of order as it’s outside the scope of the bill. Members, that brings us to clause 4.
