Time unknown

I seek leave to move a motion without notice or debate acknowledging the 70th anniversary of independence of the Republic of India, and acknowledging the Independence Day of Pakistan.

💬 Mr SPEAKER: Leave is sought for that course of action. Is there any objection? There is none.

I move, That this House congratulate the Republic of India on the occasion of its 70th anniversary of independence, marking the day on which the United Kingdom’s Parliament passed the Indian Independence Act 1947, and that the House also acknowledge Pakistan’s Independence Day, which was yesterday, 14 August.

Motion agreed to.
