Hurunui/Kaikōura Earthquakes Recovery Bill
I seek leave for the Hurunui/Kaikōura Earthquakes Recovery Bill to be now read a first time and referred to the Local Government and Environment Committee for consideration, for the bill to be reported to the House by 6 December 2016, and that the committee have the authority to meet at any time while the House is sitting, except during oral questions, during any evening on a day on which there has been a sitting of the House, and on a Friday in a week in which there has been a sitting of the House, despite Standing Orders 191 and 194(1)(b) and (c).
I seek this leave, as opposed to moving a motion, because the bill is well-known to the House and it will be considered at a select committee for a short time.
Leave is sought for that course of action. Is there any objection to that course of action being followed? There is none.
