Motions — Hiroshima and Nagasaki—70th Anniversary of Bombing
Time unknown
I seek the leave of the House to move without notice and without debate a motion relating to the 70th anniversary of the bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki.
💬 Mr SPEAKER: Leave is sought for that course of action. Is there any objection? There appears to be none.
I move, That this House, on the 70th anniversary of the dropping of nuclear bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki, calls on the nuclear weapon States to replace ongoing expenditure of more than $100 billion a year on their nuclear weapons arsenals with a programme to eliminate nuclear weapons, in accord with their obligations under article VI of the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons.
Motion agreed to.
