Business Statement
Next week the House will go into a 2-week adjournment. When the House resumes on Tuesday, 25 November the Government intends to progress a number of bills on the Order Paper, including the Education Amendment Bill (No 2), the Parole (Extended Supervision Orders) Amendment Bill, and the Public Safety (Public Protection Orders) Bill.
I have two questions for the Leader of the House. The first is I wonder whether he could indicate whether the Government intends to progress the Education Amendment Bill (No 2) prior to the Christmas adjournment. The second is I think he had something that he was hoping to do in respect of seeking leave around Wednesday, 10 December. I was wondering—[Interruption] He was about to get to that.
It is always the Government’s intention to progress legislation when it is on the Order Paper at some point.
