Members, it is the practice of the House for the Speaker to inform it when a member resigns. The Hon Lianne Dalziel resigned her seat with effect from 11 October 2013. I take the opportunity now to inform the House that on 12 October, in the Speaker’s absence overseas, I gave notice that the seat of Christchurch East is vacant.
