Points of Order — United Nations Security Council, New Zealand’s Candidature—Leave to Move Motion

I raise a point of order, Mr Speaker. I seek leave to move a non-debatable motion, No. 14, in my name. It is to do with New Zealand’s candidature for a non-permanent seat on the United Nations Security Council.

Leave is sought for that course of action. Is there any objection? There is objection.

I raise a point of order, Mr Speaker. If I could just clear up something for the Government, this notice of motion has been cleared with the Government through John Hayes and also through Katrina Shanks.

I am afraid the leave has been put. It has been denied. I am sorry, but there is nothing else I can do to assist the member. What I suggest the member does is take an opportunity to talk to some other members of the House. There may be an opportunity to do so at the end of question time.
