The next typescript amendment is in the name of Brendan Horan. It replaces clause 2(1). The:tion is that the amendment be agreed toβ€”

πŸ’¬ Brendan Horan: I raise a point of order, Mr Chairperson. I would just like to clarify whether I can speak to this amendment.

The CHAIRPERSON (Lindsay Tisch): No, you cannot. The reason you cannot speak to it is that I moved at the beginning that clauses 1 to 3 stand part. At that stage you had the opportunity to debate clauses 1, 2, or 3. No one did, and that is why we are now going through the votes. So you have actually lost that opportunity, and I am now going to put the question on your amendment.

The question was put that the following amendment in the name of Brendan Horan to clause 2 be agreed to:

replace subclause (1) with:

(1) Sections 42 and 70(2) come into force on the earlier ofβ€”

(a) a date appointed by the Governor-General by Order in Council:

(b) 31 December 2013.
