I seek leave to move without notice and without debate a motion in relation to Australia’s recognition of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples as its first people.

Kia ora tātou. I move, That the House congratulate Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples for achieving the unanimous recognition of the Australian House of Representatives as Australia’s first people, the acknowledgment of their continuing relationship with their traditional lands and waters, and respect for their cultures, languages, and heritage.
