Amended Answers to Oral Questions — Question No. 9 to Minister

I seek leave to correct an answer to a supplementary question from Mr Hipkins.

I inadvertently answered one of Mr Hipkins’ questions incorrectly. It was one about compensation for someone who may have suffered penalty because of their missed mortgage payment. I apologise to the House. I misheard the question. I interpreted it in a different way. In fact, the Ministry of Education has consistently made it clear that it would reimburse any staff member who has been financially disadvantaged by the transition to Novopay, such as incurring penalties on a missed payment.
