Business of the House

Next week the House is in a 1-week adjournment. When the House resumes on Tuesday, 14 August, the Government will look to complete the remaining stages of the Appropriation (2012/13 Estimates) Bill and begin the Committee stage of the Exclusive Economic Zone and Continental Shelf (Environmental Effects) Bill. Wednesday is a members’ day.

Can the Deputy Leader of the House confirm that it is the Government’s intention to move, in the next 3-week period, to debate the age-related matters of alcohol law reform, and then to do the substantive Committee stage in the September period, and when is it the Government’s intention to announce a request for substantive Supplementary Order Papers, so we can get a more coordinated approach?

It is my understanding that the Leader of the House has already indicated that he will be bringing the matter of the alcohol law reform bill to the Business Committee in the next session, for discussion.
