Sittings of the House

So that we get everything done in sequence, I will now seek leave that should the debate on the bills that the Business Committee has agreed will be dealt with under extended hours next week progress beyond 6 o’clock on the Thursday, the House will continue beyond 6 o’clock for the conclusion of the third readings.

I raise a point of order, Mr Speaker. I think we also indicated that we might deal with some flexibility around the 1 o’clock time, if we were coming to the end of the debate on one of those bills.

That is true. We essentially are splitting the debate on these five bills into morning and afternoon sessions. I think the leave should be that if either of those sessions requires the House to sit for a short time beyond the normal rising time, we should do so until the conclusion of the debate on the bill in progress.

Leave is sought for that course of action. Is there any objection? There is no objection.
