Business Statement
When the House resumes next week priority will be given to the second reading of the Rugby World Cup 2011 (Empowering) Bill and other bills relating to various Treaty settlement matters. Wednesday will be a members’ day.
I wonder whether the Deputy Leader of the House could advise us whether the Government is planning on a week of urgency during this particular sitting period, and also whether next week we can expect the third reading of the New Zealand Public Health and Disability Amendment Bill, which I understand contains an amendment from the Green member Kevin Hague. We would be interested to know whether that bill will be receiving its third reading next week.
Despite misunderstandings, the bill does not contain any amendments from the Hon Ruth Dyson, nor were any voted on, as I understand it. In respect of the first matter, relating to urgency—and I assume the member is referring to this particular 3-week sitting—I am not aware of that at this stage.
