🗣️ Speech Simon Power (New Zealand National Party — Member for Rangitīkei)
Time unknown

The House next week will continue to debate the Appropriation (2010/11 Estimates) Bill, and take time to complete the Local Government (Auckland Law Reform) Bill.

🗣️ Speech Sir Rt Hon Trevor Mallard (New Zealand Labour Party — Member for Hutt South)
Time unknown

I ask the Deputy Leader of the House two questions: firstly, which week does he expect to finish the Appropriation (2010/11 Estimates) Bill’s second reading; secondly, is he aware of some concern amongst select committees on the part of a few of his chairs with regard to a change of practice as to the acceptance of questions from Opposition members for the estimates process?

🗣️ Speech Simon Power (New Zealand National Party — Member for Rangitīkei)
Time unknown

In response to the first question, I tell the member that it will be within the period of time set down by the Standing Orders. In respect of the second question, I tell him that I have recently been made aware of some discussions that have been occurring in select committees; I have been listening carefully to the advice I have been receiving on that issue.
