πŸ—£οΈ Speech Hon Gerry Brownlee (New Zealand National Party β€” Member for Ilam)
Time unknown

I move, That urgency be accorded the introduction and first reading of the Resource Management (Simplifying and Streamlining) Amendment Bill. This bill has been very much awaited by many New Zealanders who have identified over the years the difficulties in dealing with the Resource Management Act.

Yesterday evening a seminar was provided to all members of Parliament on the content of the bill, and copies of the bill were available for all members of Parliament. My colleague the Hon Nick Smith, who will be moving the first reading today, has also undertaken to release many of the papers that went into the advice that formulated the construction of this bill.

πŸ—£οΈ Speech Hon Sir Michael Cullen (New Zealand Labour Party β€” List Member)

I raise a point of order, Mr Speaker. I think it might be helpful to point out to the Leader of the House that it is not a requirement of the Standing Orders that urgency be moved every day after question time.

πŸ—£οΈ Speech Lockwood Smith (New Zealand National Party β€” Member for Rodney)
Time unknown

I will accept the good humour with which the member made a non - point of order.
