Speaker’s Statements — Television—Breach of Filming Rules

During the last sitting period there appeared on Television One news an item that included shots of printed material on a member’s desk taken from the gallery over the shoulder of the member. I just draw members’ attention to this coverage in order to raise awareness of a clear breach of the rules of filming from the gallery, so that members can adjust their behaviour in the Chamber accordingly. Material on members’ desks has been filmed despite the rules. As a result members will need to take care about the papers they bring into the Chamber.
