Pursuant to section 21 of the Citizens Initiated Referenda Act 1993, I hereby inform the House that a petition has been received from Ms Sheryl Savill seeking a referendum on the question, β€œShould a smack as part of good parental correction be a criminal offence in New Zealand?”. This petition has been certified as correct by the Clerk of the House under section 18 of the Act.
