I move, That this House mourn the loss of Porirua Police Sergeant Derek Wootton while on duty on 11 July 2008; place on record its gratitude for the sacrifices New Zealand Police staff make willingly on behalf of New Zealand citizens every day in the course of their work; and convey its deep sympathy to Sergeant Derek Wootton’s family, friends, and colleagues.
