I regret to inform the House of the death on 11 April 2008 of the Rt Hon Fraser MacDonald Colman QSO, who represented the electorate of Petone from 1967 to 1978 and that of Pencarrow from 1978 to 1987. He was the Minister of Immigration and Minister of Mines from 1972 to 1975, Associate Minister of Labour from 1972 to 1973, Associate Minister of Works and Development from 1972 to 1974, Postmaster-General from 1974 to 1975, Minister of Works and Development from 1984 to 1987, Minister in charge of the Earthquake and War Damage Commission from 1984 to 1986, and Associate Minister of Energy from 1984 to 1987. I desire, on behalf of this House, to express our sense of the loss we have sustained and our sympathy with the relatives of the late former member. I now ask members to stand with me and observe a period of silence as a mark of respect for his memory.
