Points of Order — Chamber—Ejection of Members

I raise a point of order, Madam Speaker. On Tuesday of this week a large number of National Party MPs were ejected from the House for various reasons, and the penalty on that occasion was that they were to stay out of the House for the rest of the day. Yesterday, an equal number of Labour members were required to leave the Chamber, but the penalty, it seemed, was commuted to be just until the end of question time. Madam Speaker, we would appreciate knowing whether there will be some consistency applied to members, regardless of which side of the House they are on.

The members who were ejected from the National side of the House were also out of the Chamber until the end of question time.
