Urgent Debates Declined — Police—Pepper Spray

I have received a letter from Keith Locke seeking to debate under Standing Order 380 television footage showing a police officer pepper spraying a handcuffed man in the face. The incident is a particular case of recent occurrence involving the administrative responsibility of the Government, but I do not agree that it requires the urgent attention of the House by way of urgent debate today. [Interruption] Would members please be quiet. I am reading out a ruling, which members would like to hear, I believe. Inquiries into this matter are known to be in train, and it would be premature to accept an application for debate in those circumstances. The application is therefore declined.
