I have received a letter from Judy Turner seeking to debate under Standing Order 380 comments made by the Principal Family Court Judge about family violence in New Zealand. There is no ministerial responsibility for comments made by a member of the judiciary, nor, indeed, for judicial decisions. Therefore, I cannot accept this application and it is declined.
