Next week in the House priority will be given to the remaining stages of the Customs and Excise (Motor Spirits) Amendment Bill, the Films, Videos, and Publications Classification Amendment Bill, and the Committee stage of the Ngati Awa Claims Settlement Bill. Priority will also be given to any first readings on the Order Paper.

Noticing that the Government clearly wants to get the Ngati Awa Claims Settlement Bill dealt with by the end of, certainly, the next session of Parliament, can we expect that there will be no urgency next week?

Yes, I am hopeful the House will be able to deal with the Committee stage of that bill without urgency at all.
