Speaker’s Statements — Questions for Written Answer—System Breakdown

A point of order was raised earlier concerning the lodging of written questions. I undertook to look into the matter and to bring information to members. A problem occurred yesterday in the offices of two members in the lodging of questions. That was caused by the importing of formatting that was not compatible with the questions for written answer system. The problem was successfully resolved yesterday and the members were able to lodge their questions. The questions for written answer system received all written questions lodged today, and those are now being processed. A message was sent this morning to the users of the questions for written answer system to inform them of the problem that occurred yesterday and to provide members with some information about how to avoid that problem in the future. Unfortunately, the message did not clearly identify that the problem actually occurred yesterday and has been resolved.
