Next week the House will go into a 1-week adjournment. When the House resumes on Tuesday, 2 November priority will be given to the first reading of the Ngati Tuwharetoa (Bay of Plenty) Claims Settlement Bill, and to the remaining stages of the Parental Leave and Employment Protection Amendment Bill, the Taxation (Annual Rates, Venture Capital and Miscellaneous Provisions) Bill, and the Care of Children Bill.

Can the Leader of the House give us some assurance that despite the current political environment, the Government will not use urgency excessively to avoid question time?
