Tabling of Documents — Minister of Police—Allegations made by New Zealand First
Yesterday in the House New Zealand First List MP Ron Mark accused me of misrepresentation in respect of an allegation I made that the New Zealand First Party had called on the Minister of Police to breach the longstanding constitutional convention, relating to the separation of powers between the Minister of Police and the Commissioner of Police, by calling on the Minister to intervene in matters rightly the preserve of the police by accessing and reviewing police files. Therefore, I seek leave to table transcripts from the parliamentary website that clearly show that members of the New Zealand First Party have called on the Minister of Police to intervene by accessing and reviewing police files.
💬 Mr SPEAKER: Leave is sought to table that document. Is there any objection? There is.
