Urgent Debates Declined — Home Detention—Review of Scheme

I have received a letter from Marc Alexander seeking to debate, under Standing Order 373, an announcement that the Government is to review the home detention scheme. This is merely an announcement of review. It does not contain any substantive policy changes. In those circumstances, I do not believe there is a particular case of recent occurrence requiring the immediate attention of the House. The application is therefore declined.
