Offices of Parliament—Address to Governor-General
, on behalf of the Leader of the House: I am pleased to commend to members of the House Government notice of motion No. 2 in the name of my colleague the Hon Dr Michael Cullen. I move, That a respectful address be presented to Her Excellency the Governor-General commending to Her Excellency the alterations to the appropriations for the 2003-04 financial year in respect of Vote Audit, Vote Ombudsmen, and Vote Parliamentary Commissioner for the Environment and the appropriations for the 2004-05 financial year in respect of Vote Audit, Vote Ombudsmen, and Vote Parliamentary Commissioner for the Environment.
Just very briefly, I point out that these matters, of course, have been considered by the appropriate select committees. Although one or two issues were raised by members from the National Party, to a large extent they have been addressed. There are some issues with regard to one or two of the votes, but of course it is recognised that they need to be passed prior to the Budget being presented, so the National Party will support their progress.
Motion agreed to, and Address agreed to.
The House adjourned at 8.37 p.m.
