Points of Order — Law Commission Reports—Availability

I raise a point of order, Mr Speaker. I raise a matter of procedure that is of some concern to New Zealand First. It is with regard to the presentation of Law Commission reports. We were informed that we could only get a copy at 1 o’clock yesterday. It was 372 pages long. I see that one party had a press release about the report out by 11.51 a.m. yesterday, although it was embargoed until 1 p.m. I would ask that these reports are distributed to all members of all parties equally and that some are not preferred over others.

They are in the Bills Office. If the member wants to go there to get a copy he can have one.

💬 DAIL JONES: But my point is that some members got it at about 11 o’clock, 10 o’clock, or 9 o’clock, so why was New Zealand First able to get it only at 1 o’clock?

If that was the case, then people got it from the Law Commission. It was tabled yesterday and it is available in the Bills Office.
