Points of Order — Question No. 2 to Minister, 20 November

I raise a point of order, Mr Speaker. On the last sitting day of the last sitting week I asked a question of the Minister of Health about whether she had seen any reports on widening the window of eligibility for breast screening tests. In her answer, she outlined that she had had reports illustrating the effect of widening the eligibility of women for tests from the age of 64 to that of 70 years. I accept that the Minister made a genuine mistake. I understand that she has had reports about the importance of widening that window from the age of 50 years down to 40 years, and I think that she has inadvertently misled the House.

💬 Mr SPEAKER: Let me say that that is up to the Minister; it is nothing to do with me. The Minister, if she wants to make a statement, can most certainly do so, or the member can take other action. But it is not up to me to intervene in this area.
