Business Statement
Next week in the House priority will be given to the Dog Control Amendment Bill, the Forests Amendment Bill, and the Subordinate Legislation (Confirmation and Validation) Bill (No 2). Wednesday is a members’ day.
I notice that the Order Paper is relatively light, and that the workload of the Government could be completed very early this year. Can the Minister tell us whether there is more legislation in the pipeline that may be put through the House under urgency—for example, the foreshore and seabed legislation—and if not, can he tell us what the Government’s intention is to sort out that particular problem?
💬 Mr SPEAKER: The Minister may answer the first part of the question.
No, I do not anticipate any legislation before Christmas, as the member would be aware if he had read the submission of the Waitangi Tribunal, which is on the website.
