🗣️ Speech David Cunliffe (New Zealand Labour Party — Member for New Lynn)
Time unknown

On question for oral answer No. 4 on 18 September, our previous sitting day, I responded to a supplementary question and referred to a survey on business compliance costs. In the response I may have used the phrase “at least 80 percent”. The response I had presumed I had made, and certainly had intended to make, in line with my briefing notes, was “up to 80 percent”. I have ensured that the Hansard records are in line with what I thought I said. I wanted to draw the attention of the House to this as a matter of personal integrity, and because I am interested in maintaining the highest standards of debate in this House.
