Next week in the House it is the Government’s intention to make progress on the Ngati Tama Claims Settlement Bill, the Families Commission Bill, the Fair Trading Amendment Bill (No 3), the Crown Minerals Amendment Bill, and the remaining stages of the Resource Management Amendment Bill (No 2). Wednesday is members’ day, and, of course, Thursday is Budget day.

I have a simple question for the Minister. Does he anticipate that the House would need to take urgency over any matters that are going to be announced in the Budget, or are we likely to have any repeats of the extraordinary urgency that we saw this week over the passing of legislation that, essentially, should be a Budget matter?

To the first part of the member’s question, I do not anticipate that the Budget will require any legislation or urgency.
